About Winder, GA - Happy to be your hometown Heating & Air Conditioning Contractor!

Winder is a small North Georgia city that is home to about 14,100 residents. It serves as the county seat of Barrow County and is located east of Atlanta. Public schools in the area are served by the Barrow County School District, with older students attending either Winder-Barrow High School or Apalachee High School. A campus of Lanier Technical College is also located in the community.

There is no shortage of things to see or do when traveling to Winder. Fort Yargo State Park is the gem of the community, as this park offers camping, a swimming beach, boat rental, and biking and hiking trails. The Winder Cultural Arts Center serves as an artistic haven for both performing and visual arts, and the Colleen O. Williams Theater is also a beautiful addition to the community. Downtown Winder offers furniture, crafts, and antique shops, as well as many coffee shops and restaurants, and popular area golf courses include Pine Hills Golf Club and The Chimneys Golf Club.

Residents of Winder need to be prepared for any conditions that Mother Nature has in store, as the climate varies dramatically with the season. The spring months are warm with average highs in the 70s or 80s, and they lead to an even hotter summer. With average highs reaching well into the 90s and combining with excessive humidity, residents are wise to invest in energy efficient home air conditioning systems. Regular maintenance is also a necessity.

During the autumn months, conditions tend to be comfortable, but the winter months will cool off. January temperatures average in the 50s during the day, but overnight lows can fall well below freezing. Without a furnace or heat pump in place, plumbing and interior piping could be at risk of freezing. This may lead to some costly potential repairs that could have been avoided with the right climate controls.
